Well aren’t we pretty?!?
Written by fear and parenting in las vegas on June 25, 2010 – 9:25 am -The new design is up!
Don’t you just love the new header that Schmutzie (from Sweet Blog Designs) made for me? Her original design had a showgirl with a cat on her crotch, but we dialed that down because, you know, I’m all about the class here.
Once settled on the header, Terra (aka Zoeyjane) sprinkled copious amounts of code pixie dust and pulled the rest of the design together and moved me into my new gigs. She’s fabulously patient with my short-attention-span-theater approach to finishing this project (we started this process almost a year ago!)
If you like this, you should see my Twitter background that Maria (also from Sweet Blog) did for me).
Thanks so much to Schmutzie, Maria and Terra for all of their work on this. Also thanks to Whit, Tricia, Adam, and everyone who confirmed that a cat on my crotch was a little to edgy for me.
So how do you like it?
(This is the part where you leave comments and tell me how nice it looks even if you’re not sure if you like it.)
When you’re done blowing smoke up my ass here, you can check these posts and tell me I’m brilliant there as well.

Cool stuff you shouldn't miss
Written by fear and parenting in las vegas on April 9, 2010 – 12:00 am -I’ve been a busy girl, so I’m taking the weekend off to enjoy the life I write about here. My kids come back to me on Sunday, so I’ll be loving and smooshing on them for a bit.
In your spare time, you can check me out here.
- My first feature post over at Savvy Source, where I talk about ladders and butterflies and try not to cry.
- My writeups at Uptake about the best pomegranate martini in Vegas (at The Griffin, of course), and The House of Blues at Mandalay Bay.
- My reviews of Rocket Fizz Soda and Candy Shop, Roos-N-More Exotic Animal Zoo, and The Putt Park for Savvy Source Las Vegas.
- Finally, it’s spring in Vegas, so there’s a ton of stuff on the calendar at SSLV for local parents to pick from.
And while you’re at it, be sure to check out my friend Lee from Moms Without Blogs and her new project, The State of the Mom. The intro video sums up a lot of what modern parenting has become (not just motherhood, I know dads who struggle to be all these things too). I’m so proud of her. It takes a lot to take an idea and pull it together so beautifully. Go and wish her well and join the coversation.

I'm everywhere but here today
Written by fear and parenting in las vegas on August 30, 2009 – 10:31 pm -
I'm leaving on a jet plane. Hello, SWA? I'll take my flight with wireless please.
The last week’s been nothing short of crazy and I’m about to hit a big month of travel — 15 days on the road in September.
Check out my mouth watering reviews of two of my new favorite snack foods: PopChips and Fling chocolate candy.
Speaking of eating, there’s also a book review of Eat, Pray, Love.
You can also see who won the big Blackberry Tour/BlackBerry Diaries giveaway.
Also, you can get the skinny on the Danish block bonanza that is Legoland with a dash of Vegas flair.
I’ll be back soon with a recap on my visit with Kathy Buckworth at the Blackberry Diaries event. I gotta go pack and print a boarding pass.
